Senator Josh Hawley introduced S. 1829. Representative Barry Moore introduced H.R. 3921.

CSAM means child sexual abuse material.

It would:

  1. Let survivors sue a tech company that hosts this abuse on purpose, or that knows about it and leaves it up.
  2. Make platforms report abuse they know about within 60 days, with more of the details investigators need.
  3. Require large platforms to file a yearly report on how they protect children from sexual abuse on their services. The government publishes those reports.
  4. Give survivors a way to go to court, and stronger privacy protections while a case is going on.

Why now: Congress is considering it now. Your call helps get it passed.

The Senate bill was reported by the Senate Judiciary Committee on June 26, 2025, and placed on the Senate calendar the same day. Congress.gov still lists it as introduced. It has not passed the Senate. The House bill was introduced on June 11, 2025, and referred to the House Judiciary Committee the same day.
